HOW ARE SOCKS PRODUCED?

1.Socks Knitting:

Socks are produced on circular knitting machines generally Italy origin LONATİ branded machines in our country. These electronic socks knitting machines allows for the ultimate efficiency and productivity for manufacturing socks. The socks are knitted with needles which are located around a circular frame inside the machines. The needles quantity depends on the type of socks wanted to produce.

First of all, designing and planning steps needed for socks production are carried out on the socks designing programs on computers. Seasonal and innovative designs considering local taste and global trends for socks production are provided by knitwear special designers and other necessary data of production processes are prepared by another team. Then all designated information about production steps and socks designs are loaded to the knitting machines and necessary raw materials are placed around the knitting machines. Then they are connected to knitting machines properly and the socks production is started. After an interval of production time, sample product is obtained. The sample socks’ length, design, and yarn colors are controlled, then operators perform if there were necessary modifications on the sample product. At the end, mass production is started on the knitting machines. The production of the designated socks continues until the defined production quantity will be completed.

After the production process of socks on knitting machines, the socks are ready for other manufacturing processes which are toe linking, steam, pre-washing, ironing, quality control, folding, labeling and packing in sequence.

2.Toe Linking:

But most of the socks knitting machines doesn’t have this property so to obtain seamless toe, the socks are treated for toe-link process on other machines by handlinking. Other choice for toe-link is Rosso toe seam which enables faster and more economic finishing with regard to handlinking seamless toe-link operation in order to complete the production process.

3.Steam/Pre-Washing/Ironing:

Pursing the above ultimate socks production technologies, the socks should be pre-washed for cleaning and softening after manufacturing steps. Firstly, socks are applied advanced treatments in automatic washing machines with perfume and other necessary materials. Then these uniquely treated socks should be sent to drying machines for completing spin dry. The planned-level dried socks are ironed at suitable heats on special iron molds and inside automatic ironing machines before quality control steps.

4.Quality Control and Folding:

After ironing of socks, operators perform required quality check procedures and separate defect ones. Quality controlled single socks are folded and coupled properly and delicately then transformed to pair socks status. Then these socks are sent to labeling and packing department.

5.Labeling and Packing:

Paired socks are labeled on the stitching machines with special designed tags which belongs to them according to their types and product groups. Then these labeled socks are packed with specified quantities into designed polybags, cases or boxes according to their product groups. At the end, these packed socks are placed in warehouse and they are ready for shipment to customers.
